BxNU (Baltic x Northumbria) invites you to join a discussion at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art organised in collaboration with Project Art Works, an organisation which collaborates with people with complex support needs, their families, and their circles of support.

Explorers: In Process is a two-day ‘takeover’ of Baltic which brings together national conversations about how cultural institutions can evolve into more caring and inclusive spaces. In Process embraces agency in art, systems of care, and different artist development practices. The event aspires to be non-didactic and accessible and will include a majority of contributors with lived experience of disability, neurodivergence or as caregivers as well as artists, studios and institutions from around the UK.

If you are interested in contemporary art and care for or identify as disabled and/or neurodiverse - and want to explore how higher education institutions could help mitigate the paradigms of exclusion often faced by disabled and neurodiverse people - you are invited to discuss your ideas in the context of Explorers.

The BxNU discussion about higher education will take place on Wednesday 29 November at 2pm at Baltic. However, you are invited to attend the whole event if you have time.

Please email andrea.phillips@northumbria.ac.uk to register your interest and receive more details.
